Goulish Googlie Treats

Today I am off to a mini convention with some of my fellow SU demo pals. We are each bringing a project for everyone to make. This is my little treat bag. There will be treats of some sort in there, but I just hadn't figured it out yet when I scheduled this post. Hopefully no one checks out my blog this morning. Don't want to ruin the surprise!

What Goes Around Comes Around

You know how fashions come and go and then come back again? That is kind of like me with SU! I decided to sign up to be a demo again. I missed it for the year and a couple of months I was not a demo and with the sign up special they have going, I couldn't resist any longer.

If you are going to order $100 of Stampin' Up! products, why not just order the fully customizable starter kit and get $125 worth of product and free shipping? I have a link in my sidebar to the demo agreement where you can take advantage of this like I did. What have you got to lose?

Balloon Scene

This card was inspired by Lynn Weiss's beautiful card HERE.  I think I had a few too many layers of hills so the center didn't emboss as well as I would've liked. But it is still cute!

My sister in law got married this weekend. This was the card I made for them.

Pretty Little Bow

I came across these beautiful bows that Penney Smiley used in her tutorial found HERE. I had to figure out how to make a bow like that. Well, my bow isn't quite the same, but I like it. I'll have to get her tutorial on payday so I can see how she really does it.

I used the Extra-Large Oval Punch from SU! and here's how I made my bow.

Take a piece of patterned paper that is twice as wide as your punch and fold it in half.

Line up your punch so that you are on the fold,
but leave a little gap there so the ovals will be connected.

See here we have two ovals connected on the fold.

Take one side and glue it down in the middle.

Now glue the other side down in the middle.

I flipped it over and ta-da! Now just add a button or some
other embelishment in the middle and glue some tails on the back.

Over the Hill

One of my coworkers just turned 70! How crazy is that? We had a little lunch for him with cake and I just had to make this card.

Here is a close up of the hills. See the dimension? Each layer is up on dimensionals. I love making hills.

You Can Never Have Too Many Birthday Cards

Uh-oh! This the last of the cards I made on the recent days I spent stamping. I had better get inky again soon!

I've got new goodies coming this week so that is the perfect excuse.

Pink Piggy

This pink pig is so cute with his button nose. Not sure who I can send a pig card to. I'll have to consider that carefully before dropping it in the mail.

Sunny Flower

This card is so cheery. I colored the rings of petals with markers and was able to stamp before they dried. I was impressed. That is a lot of coloring.

A Cherry Recovery

Phew! I still had some decent stamping abilities in me. I love this button set and used it to make my next few cards.

It was a Rough Start

I got to stamp with some friends two days in a row. I had a hard time getting back into the swing of things. This first card wasn't so bad. A few months ago, I decided I wanted to try out the A Muse Studio inks and so I picked a couple of colors that were different from the other stuff I had. So this card is in blueberry and the ink and papers coordinate fabulously. It looks almost like I cut the ballons out of the polka dot paper, but that is stamped. Not a terrible start...

But then I pulled out the lime and YUCK! This color is bright. My pal Patty thought it would be great if I was making garage sale signs. Unlike the blueberry, the colors were a bit off. The ink wasn't as vibrant as the paper and the ribbon had more yellow in it than the paper.

All in all, it was fun trying out some different products, but I had to recover from this before I could put away my stamping supplies. (To be continued.)

Hip to be Square

I was on a square card kick for awhile. These were made quite awhile ago. I just came across the pictures I took of them. This stamp is retired, but SU! has a similar one out now. I love the dimension.

Hey and the colors match my blog.

I made a card! One of my cousin's recently graduated and the party was this weekend. So I had to make a card. It's been awhile. Hoping to get inky again soon!

Michigan Mingle 2012

In March we had the 5th annual SCS Michigan Mingle. It's taken me some time to recover from that weekend. Ha ha! There's not a whole lot of sleeping going on. Lots of giggling and staying up late.

Here are the friend frames I made for my roomies and coorganizers.

Tracy's Frame
Patty's Frame
Emma's Frame
Pony's Frame
Robin's Frame
To make these, I dug out every friend related stamp I could find and stamped them on the background paper. Then I covered that with tissue paper to mute it a bit. The roses in the corners are done with the watercolor rose technique. I also altered the frames a bit. Some have acrylic paint and they all have glitter and crystal effects. To finish, I put ribbon on the outside of the glass but through the frame.
