Today I am off to a mini convention with some of my fellow SU demo pals. We are each bringing a project for everyone to make. This is my little treat bag. There will be treats of some sort in there, but I just hadn't figured it out yet when I scheduled this post. Hopefully no one checks out my blog this morning. Don't want to ruin the surprise!<br />

That is kind of like me with SU! I decided to sign up to be a demo again. I missed it for the year and a couple of months I was not a demo and with the sign up special they have going, I couldn't resist any longer. <br />
<br />
If you are going to order $100 of Stampin' Up! products, why not just order the fully customizable starter kit and get $125 worth of product and free shipping? I have a link in my sidebar to the demo agreement where you can take advantage of this like I did. What have you got to lose?<br />

This card was inspired by Lynn Weiss's beautiful card <a href="http://lwdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/07/last-artisan-entry.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. I think I had a few too many layers of hills so the center didn't emboss as well as I would've liked. But it is still cute!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I came across these beautiful bows that Penney Smiley used in her tutorial found <a href="http://stampsnsmiles.blogspot.com/2012/06/razzleberry-bow-purse-tutorial-or-kit.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. I had to figure out how to make a bow like that. Well, my bow isn't quite the same, but I like it. I'll have to get her tutorial on payday so I can see how she really does it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the Extra-Large Oval Punch from SU! and here's how I made my bow.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXpQ0M8DkQiFM2T94FTofTShpK-QgMuLb8zHJHN2TzNvjmpTlrzEiyZl7pByDY89ZQQkPTTnoOQ_gVoUniDDb7fPhWltCSqX33Bm0usNklUVE8axm03ttcagj3OYGZyiEFukQlrA/s1600/Bow+Tut+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" sda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXpQ0M8DkQiFM2T94FTofTShpK-QgMuLb8zHJHN2TzNvjmpTlrzEiyZl7pByDY89ZQQkPTTnoOQ_gVoUniDDb7fPhWltCSqX33Bm0usNklUVE8axm03ttcagj3OYGZyiEFukQlrA/s320/Bow+Tut+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Take a piece of patterned paper that is twice as wide as your punch and fold it in half.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1KJHttydjI2XOawMaPY94nLBRNuHmy4WDjOPw5QNVxCQgkFAp3jzUZQeg4Y3T-u5r3RX85npXFYEJT45y9GzU_D-6xllhzvcopXHFgYAWkPBNh7Hl-9MTkVzRLmDk8XWIl8U8Cg/s1600/Bow+Tut+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" sda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1KJHttydjI2XOawMaPY94nLBRNuHmy4WDjOPw5QNVxCQgkFAp3jzUZQeg4Y3T-u5r3RX85npXFYEJT45y9GzU_D-6xllhzvcopXHFgYAWkPBNh7Hl-9MTkVzRLmDk8XWIl8U8Cg/s320/Bow+Tut+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Line up your punch so that you are on the fold, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but leave a little gap there so the ovals will be connected.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwq1MNZ31aP798YkVLd31ZjcivluGHmYtmPEuT3hDL5okb8mAu5fE7xjCM0LC6v2j1fqhrFAWLQlkZ5KaIPhu6MaJvF3H9cqWdTr2CZbDFE6Y4PzZGZMVubfNPXizsGAEvEYahZw/s1600/Bow+Tut+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" sda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwq1MNZ31aP798YkVLd31ZjcivluGHmYtmPEuT3hDL5okb8mAu5fE7xjCM0LC6v2j1fqhrFAWLQlkZ5KaIPhu6MaJvF3H9cqWdTr2CZbDFE6Y4PzZGZMVubfNPXizsGAEvEYahZw/s320/Bow+Tut+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
See here we have two ovals connected on the fold.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMqN_UeJrcaNg0Iyx3fw3UetOy1-DGhEtrunAieAhKW-OGwjBCw88kIASq9HI9a-8gulleMLlo1sleTxvm4pN9sQWhSlIseivlPzKujMbRAvmAWSHZ-JlNYAadSdgqUN3xnGyLtg/s1600/Bow+Tut+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="154" sda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMqN_UeJrcaNg0Iyx3fw3UetOy1-DGhEtrunAieAhKW-OGwjBCw88kIASq9HI9a-8gulleMLlo1sleTxvm4pN9sQWhSlIseivlPzKujMbRAvmAWSHZ-JlNYAadSdgqUN3xnGyLtg/s320/Bow+Tut+4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

One of my coworkers just turned 70! How crazy is that? We had a little lunch for him with cake and I just had to make this card.<br />

Here is a close up of the hills. See the dimension? Each layer is up on dimensionals. I love making hills.<br />

Uh-oh! This the last of the cards I made on the recent days I spent stamping. I had better get inky again soon!<br />
<br />
I've got new goodies coming this week so that is the perfect excuse.<br />

This pink pig is so cute with his button nose. Not sure who I can send a pig card to. I'll have to consider that carefully before dropping it in the mail.<br />

This card is so cheery. I colored the rings of petals with markers and was able to stamp before they dried. I was impressed. That is a lot of coloring. <br />

Phew! I still had some decent stamping abilities in me. I love this button set and used it to make my next few cards.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.blogger.com/"><img src="http://sites.google.com/site/lorienclarkimages/images/Lorien-Signature.jpg" /></a>Lorien Clarkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04485448998616826588noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29046724.post-17507624410697776752012-07-12T07:00:00.000-04:002012-07-22T14:46:23.883-04:00It was a Rough Start<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibVUa1NpX3UBpq4ipfpiIILc5qAGj6A1VQQ4KyaLOF_opS28cYy2M8KCi66qjXIs9qMt2sVgD7uoiA1blI45ctTj_MPkI3y3mNQ71gnSyN30FdDfPYDsq3SF_UEmMf0lMDJxHg1A/s1600/monochrome+ballons.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $ca="true" border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibVUa1NpX3UBpq4ipfpiIILc5qAGj6A1VQQ4KyaLOF_opS28cYy2M8KCi66qjXIs9qMt2sVgD7uoiA1blI45ctTj_MPkI3y3mNQ71gnSyN30FdDfPYDsq3SF_UEmMf0lMDJxHg1A/s400/monochrome+ballons.jpg" width="332" /></a></div>
I got to stamp with some friends two days in a row. I had a hard time getting back into the swing of things. This first card wasn't so bad. A few months ago, I decided I wanted to try out the A Muse Studio inks and so I picked a couple of colors that were different from the other stuff I had. So this card is in blueberry and the ink and papers coordinate fabulously. It looks almost like I cut the ballons out of the polka dot paper, but that is stamped. Not a terrible start...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHjE7WqtV7sKjJE-x3Pb0zBK2SkhJgIXuU0Icrizz-mhNgzDzgW5Ajba6XfwJwavDH_PGfoOtazXaQctb29qZ_QFTJ_SDphK1E-_eo4UheXFUYpX9RzSYggMPqpZ1cKUiReWPUCg/s1600/lime+blech.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $ca="true" border="0" height="303" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHjE7WqtV7sKjJE-x3Pb0zBK2SkhJgIXuU0Icrizz-mhNgzDzgW5Ajba6XfwJwavDH_PGfoOtazXaQctb29qZ_QFTJ_SDphK1E-_eo4UheXFUYpX9RzSYggMPqpZ1cKUiReWPUCg/s400/lime+blech.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
But then I pulled out the lime and YUCK! This color is bright. My pal Patty thought it would be great if I was making garage sale signs. Unlike the blueberry, the colors were a bit off. The ink wasn't as vibrant as the paper and the ribbon had more yellow in it than the paper. <br />
<br />
All in all, it was fun trying out some different products, but I had to recover from this before I could put away my stamping supplies. (To be continued.)<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Robin's Frame</td></tr>
</tbody></table>To make these, I dug out every friend related stamp I could find and stamped them on the background paper. Then I covered that with tissue paper to mute it a bit. The roses in the corners are done with the watercolor rose technique. I also altered the frames a bit. Some have acrylic paint and they all have glitter and crystal effects.To finish, I put ribbon on the outside of the glass but through the frame. <br />

Last April I let my SU! demoship lapse and I haven't been doing a whole lot of stamping. <br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">I recently purchased some paper and envelopes from a new to me company and wanted to share what I found. I have been reading <a href="http://lauraevangeline.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Laura Evangeline's blog </a> on and off for a few years. She used to be known as The Stamping Soldier. She served our country in the Army and still managed to do a little crafting. I just noticed that she had her own <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/LillyBellesPaperie?ref=si_shop" target="_blank">Etsy Shop</a> where she sells cardstock and coordinating COLORED envelopes, along with various ribbons and embellishments. I was intrigued. There is also a website, but she seems to be leading customers to etsy, so perhaps she prefers people to purchase there. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7185/6812996180_4550c8e3aa_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232px" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7185/6812996180_4550c8e3aa_b.jpg" uda="true" width="400px" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">I purchased the assorted cardstock and envelopes from Laura's shop and I figured I should share what I found. Being a former demo, my stash is limited to just SU! paper other than some Gina K white that I have. The Lilly Belle's paper is a heavier weight than the SU! cardstock. I believe SU's is 90lb and Lilly Belle's is 100lb.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7061/6959107401_135a2ce2ac_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="297px" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7061/6959107401_135a2ce2ac_b.jpg" uda="true" width="400px" /></a></div>On to the color comparison's. The Lilly Belle's is the 1/4 sheet you see in the photos. You can see the pictures better if you click on them.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7192/6959107433_e2a506901d_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="222px" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7192/6959107433_e2a506901d_b.jpg" uda="true" width="320px" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Lilly Belle's Dolche doesn't seem to be coated like the SU! or Gina K whites. It seems a tad brighter. Perhaps that has to do with the finish on the others. It is VERY hard to photograph white.</div><br />

I thought I had another post all set up to go, but apparently not. Ha ha.<br /><br />This was a card we did at Stamp Camp last night. Lots of fun! This uses the <a href="http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=118734&dbwsdemoid=56732">Contempo Christmas </a>set and the <a href="http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=117159&dbwsdemoid=56732">Jolly Holiday DSP</a>. We colored the stamp with markers to get the multi color image.<br /><br />Well that is all I've got for the Christmas Cardapalooza this year. The designer paper is from the <a href="http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=120810&dbwsdemoid=56732">Deck the Halls</a> pack. The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla. I tied a knot in Early Espresso satin ribbon and attached it to my card.<br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div><a><img src="http://sites.google.com/site/lorienclarkimages/images/Lorien-Signature.jpg" /></a></div>Lorien Clarkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04485448998616826588noreply@blogger.com0
